Parents should note that while this app is free it does offer in app purchases of items such as Robux (in-game currency). You don't need to buy anything within the game to be able to play and enjoy it fully. Kids have accidentally racked big bills because of pesky in-app purchases. You can turn off in-app purchases to avoid the temptation. Check out our 'How to's' section below.
Users can join groups and chat to other players via voice or text. Players have a choice to either chat with strangers (in a public setting) or people they know, Kids should only be conversing with 'real life' friends via this feature. For young kids, we encourage chat to be turned off so they are protected from contact by strangers.
If safety settings are implemented, Roblox can be a very fun and creative game for kids. Screen time can escape children a little however, as they become immersed in the game. To keep screen time healthy, limits are a great idea for parents to set. Parental controls tools or screen time functions built in to some devices can help enforce limits, allowing you to switch on and off during your set times.
If you find you've been added to a group that you don't want to be a part of, you can leave the group by clicking on the settings button (the gear icon) and select 'Leave Group'.
If you find that a stranger has entered your chat group, or someone is being mean and you want them removed, you can remove someone from the chat group by clicking on the settings button (the gear icon), selecting the button that looks like three dots next to the user you wish to remove, and select 'Remove'.
1. Open your Apps list and tap on the Play Store icon to open it.
2. Press the Menu button in the top-left corner of the Play Store, then scroll down and tap Settings.
3. Find and press require authentication for purchases to choose how long to wait before asking for your password again.
4. Finally, press the option to require authentication for all purchases through Google Play on this device. Now, you'll need to enter your password for every app or in-app purchase.
